The Municipality of Middlesex Centre is pleased to announce the continuation of funding through the Government of Ontario’s Seniors Active Living Centre (SALC) grant. For 2025-2026, the Province is providing $55,000 in support.

Middlesex Centre’s SALC Program enhances recreational opportunities for older adults across the municipality. The program offers accessible physical and social activities, aligning with Middlesex Centre’s Community Services Master Plan and Age-Friendly Community Action Plan.

“As a municipality, we're committed to creating inclusive spaces where residents of all ages and abilities can thrive,” said Mayor Aina DeViet. “Thanks to the SALC grant, we are able to offer programs that promote activity, connection, and healthy, independent living close to home.”

Over the past year, SALC funding supported a variety of programs offered at community centres in Middlesex Centre. These included fitness programs like yoga, Pilates, line dancing, and arts and crafts programs, including painting, quilting and sourdough bread making.

For more information on local programs for older adults, visit the recreation programs page on the municipal website. Note that the new Fall 2025 Recreation Calendar will be available in August.
