August 17 to 20, 2025, Ottawa - Members of Council and staff from the Municipality of Middlesex Centre are in Ottawa this week attending the 2025 Association of Municipalities Ontario (AMO) Conference. This annual event brings together municipal leaders from across the province to share ideas, learn from one another, and advocate for solutions to the challenges facing Ontario’s local governments.

In addition to attending the conference sessions, Middlesex Centre's delegation – Mayor DeViet, Councillors Sue Cates, Jean Coles and Wayne Shipley, CAO Michael Di Lullo, and Director of Corporate Services Tiffany Farrell – is meeting with provincial ministries to discuss key local economic development issues, including:

  • improved access along Highway 402 with MPP Ric Bresee, Parliamentary Assistant to the Minister of Transportation
  • business and industry attraction and retention with Minister of Economic Development, Job Creation and Trade Victor Fedeli

Middlesex Centre's delegation also had an opportunity to speak with Minister of Energy and Mines Steven Lecce at a working lunch session.

AMO is a non-profit, non-partisan association that represents more than 400 municipal governments in the province. With more than 2,500 participants, the AMO Conference is the province’s largest gathering of municipal leaders.
