Public Safety Notice from Bluewater Recycling Association (BRA)
We’re revisiting an important safety reminder about waste and recycling bins being placed on roadways. Recently, particularly in the area of Middlesex Centre, this has become an ongoing issue.
For the safety of residents, drivers, and other motorists, bins should not be placed on the roadway. Please ensure your bins are positioned properly off the road and in a safe, accessible location for collection.
If our drivers relocate a bin after collection to a different location than where it was originally placed, this is generally an indication that the bin was not positioned properly for safe collection.
Thank you for helping keep our communities safe and making collection smoother for everyone!

How should I place my wheeled container at the curb?
Place your wheeled container at the curb or edge of pavement with the wheels facing the house. After the wheeled container is collected, it is returned to the curb. Store your wheeled container in your garage or other area by your home. Please remove the wheeled container from the street within 24 hours of collection.
- Point it - Place your wheeled container so the arrow on the lid points towards the centre of the lane or street.
- Space it - Place your wheeled container so that there is at least 1m (3ft) of space on all sides and 3 m (10 feet) of clearance above. The wheeled container must be 1m (3ft) away from other objects including fences, street lights, parked cars, overhanging trees, mailboxes.
