Municipal Election 2026 - Notice of Nomination for Office

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN TO THE MUNICIPAL ELECTORS OF THE MUNICIPALITY OF MIDDLESEX CENTRE

Nominations for the Municipality of Middlesex Centre will be accepted for the offices of:

  • Mayor - One position to be elected at large
  • Deputy Mayor - One position to be elected at large
  • Councillor - Five positions (One for each of the five wards)

Candidates interested in running for the above offices in the 2026 Municipal Election must file the prescribed Nomination Paper (Form 1) with the Municipal Clerk or designate. Nominations will be accepted by appointment during the following dates and times at the Middlesex Centre Municipal Office located at 10227 Ilderton Road, Coldstream:

  • Friday, May 1 through to Thursday, August 20, 2026, during regular business hours (Monday to Friday between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., excluding holidays)
  • Friday, August 21, 2026 (Nomination Day), between 9:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m.

All nomination forms must be submitted in person by the Candidate or the Candidate’s Agent during regular business hours at the Municipal Office, accompanied by the prescribed Endorsement of Nomination (Form 2) signed by at least 25 persons endorsing the nomination who are eligible to vote in an election for an office within the Municipality of Middlesex Centre.

The nomination forms must also be accompanied by the prescribed filing fee of $100 per office, or $200 for the office of Mayor, payable by cash, debit, certified cheque, or money order along with proof of identity and residence as prescribed in O. Reg. 304/13, as amended.

Nomination forms must be filed with the Municipal Clerk or designate before you can accept contributions or spend money on your campaign.

The deadline to withdraw from nominations is Friday, August 21, 2026, prior to 2:00 p.m.

School Board Offices for Which Persons May Be Nominated:

  • Thames Valley District School Board – Two members to be elected to represent Middlesex County
  • London District Catholic School Board – One member to be elected to represent Middlesex County

  • Conseil Scolaire Viamonde – One member to be elected to represent the combined geographic area of the Counties of Middlesex, Elgin, and Oxford
    Inquiries for the above school board can be directed to the City of London Municipal Office: 300 Dufferin Avenue, London, 519-661-2489
  • Conseil Scolaire Catholique Providence – One member to be elected to represent the combined geographic area of the Counties of Middlesex and Elgin and the City of London
    Inquiries for the above school board can be directed to the City of Woodstock Clerk’s Office: 500 Dundas Street, Woodstock, ON 519-539-2382

Electors are hereby given notice that if a greater number of candidates are certified than are required to fill the offices, an election will be held and voting will be conducted by telephone/internet voting method. The Advance Voting period will commence on October 19, 2026, at 9:00 a.m. and run until October 25, 2026. Voting Day will be Monday, October 26, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. until the close of polls at 8:00 p.m.
