Outdoor Burn Ban in Effect

Update - August 25

The open fire ban is now lifted.  Thank you for your cooperation during the ban.

As always, please be sure you are following the Open Air Burn rules before you start your fire!

As of Monday, August 11, 2025, an outdoor burn ban is in effect for all of Middlesex County.

Small, backyard recreational fires are permitted at this time but may be included in the ban at a later date if the dry spell continues.

  • Recreational fires MUST follow the rules outlined in the Open Air Burn By-law.
  • Review the Open Air Burn Quick Guide before starting your fire.

Note that campgrounds and conservation areas may have bans on all fires on their property. Please check with your campground host or the conservation authority that manages the site you are visiting.

Any questions about this ban can be directed to Middlesex Centre Fire Chief Colin Toth.
