
Mayor DeViet opened the meeting by congratulating Giuliana Marra as the recipient of the 2025 Middlesex Centre Proficiency Award. This award is given annually to a Medway High School student for outstanding academic achievement.
Mayor DeViet also congratulated Middlesex Centre staff member Ryan Johnston, Transportation Lead Hand, for receiving his Certified Road Supervisor designation from the Association of Ontario Road Supervisors.
Council Business
- Sitting as the Court of Revision, approved the Schedules of Assessment for the McQueen-Kennings Drain Branch No. 4 and the Moir Drain.
- Received an update regarding the celebrations planned for Ilderton’s 150th anniversary in 2026.
- Approved Middlesex Centre’s new Arts & Culture Policy. The policy provides a framework for arts and culture-based recreational programs at Middlesex Centre.
- Received the capital budget to actual for the second quarter of 2025.
- Approved the Fees and Charges Amendment By-law: Elmhurst Street and Parkland Place Project. The amendment allows a fee for water, wastewater and stormwater curb-stop connections to be imposed on the benefiting landowners in the project area.
- Endorsed Middlesex Centre's 2025 Drinking Water Quality Management System Operational Plans as required under Ontario's Ministry of the Environment, Conservation and Parks’ Drinking Water Quality Management Standard.
- Awarded the design and contract administration services for the Ilderton Wastewater Treatment Facility Expansion to Stantec Ltd. in the amount of $1,572,512.
- Received an update regarding the Community Services Master Plan (2023-2027). Significant progress has been made on the 38 recommendations in the plan.
- Heard results from the Recreation Program Survey. There were 292 responses to the survey. Overall, comments were positive, with many expressing appreciations for Middlesex Centre’s recreational programming, with a strong interest from residents in expanding recreational offerings throughout the municipality. The survey findings are being used to refine the municipality’s recreation program offerings.
- Approved a private water service for the provision of municipal water for the proposed development at 708-714 Gideon Drive. All fees associated with the water service are covered by the property owner.
