Council Business

  • Approved the updated Community Improvement Plan. Staff will be working over the next few weeks to communicate the details of the changes on the municipal website, and to open intake for CIP applications.
  • Received an update on the recently announced Canada-Ontario Partnership to Build Initiative, which is designed to accelerate housing construction and infrastructure delivery across Ontario, in part through a temporary reduction in residential development charges.
  • Received the budget to actual report for March 2026.
  • Endorsed the 2026 Road Resurfacing Program, which will see select asphalt and tar & chip roads resurfaced this summer. These roads were prioritized through the municipal asset management plan.
  • Endorsed the continuation of the Vision Zero Campaign, which aims to further enhance road safety for all road users in Middlesex Centre.
  • Procurement: Awarded the construction of the Ballymote Municipal Drain to Robinson Farm Drainage in the amount of $359,830 + HST. Awarded the purchase of a replacement plow truck to Premier Truck Group in the amount of $262,545 (including non-refundable HST), as well as the refurbishment of the existing plow equipment to S&B Services in the amount of $150,614 (including non-refundable HST).
  • Authorized a lease agreement for 11620 Miller Rd. for agricultural purposes.

Planning Matters

Sitting in public meeting, Council received a draft plan of subdivision and zoning by-law amendment for the property at 10242 Glendon Dr. Council approved the zoning by-law amendment and recommended that the draft plan of subdivision be approved by the County (the plan will now go to County Council for their consideration). Council also received an application to change the zoning for a property at 13206 Ilderton Rd.
