At their meeting on January 28, Council approved funding for the 2026 Council Grants Program.
This year, the program received applications totaling more than $44,000, exceeding the $20,000 available. We thank all of the many worthy programs that applied a grant this year.
The organizations receiving funding are:
- BGC London for the Rural Hub Life Skills Academy
- Community Futures Middlesex for the International Women's Day Event 2026
- Del-Ko-Brydge Community for Canada Day Celebrations (taking place in Mount Brydges in 2026)
- Middlesex Centre Archives for archival supplies and in support of the Annual Heritage Fair
- Optimist Club of Bryanston-Birr for Canada Day Celebrations
- Optimist Club of Ilderton for Roadside Canada Flags in the Village of Ilderton
- Optimist Club of Komoka-Kilworth for Breakfast with Santa
- Poplar Hill and District Lions Club for the Trees Middlesex Centre Program
- Poplar Hill Picnic for the Annual Poplar Hill Picnic
- Royal Canadian Legion Branch 598 Delaware for sound equipment in support of Remembrance Day Ceremonies
The Ilderton Agricultural Society and a scholarship at Medway High School also receive funding through the Council Grants program.
Council also approved funds from the Delaware Hydro Reserve for the Delaware Lioness for Flower Baskets and Holiday Lights for the village.
Separately, as part of the 2026 budget process, Council approved a sponsorship of $15,000 for the Ilderton 150th Anniversary Celebration taking place July 10 to 12, 2026.
